AC/DC

AC/DC adalah sebuah band rock Australia, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1973 oleh Malcolm dan Angus Young, yang personelnya tetap konstan. Umumnya diklasifikasikan sebagai band hard rock , mereka dianggap sebagai pelopor heavy metal,  meskipun mereka sendiri selalu mengklasifikasikan musik mereka sebagai rock and roll . Sampai saat ini mereka adalah satu band terlaris sepanjang masa.

BON SCOOT

AC/DC mengalami beberapa perubahan formasi sebelum merilis album pertama mereka, High Voltage. Pada tanggal 17 Februari 1975 formasi kemudian stabil sampai bassist Mark Evans digantikan oleh Cliff Williams pada tahun 1977 untuk album Powerage.
Kemudian pada saat merekam album Highway to Hell, penyanyi utama dan penulis lagu Bon Scott meninggal pada tanggal 19 Februari 1980 karena konsumsi alkohol yang berlebihan. Karena meninggalnya vokalis Bon Scoot kelompok ini sempat mempertimbangkan untuk bubar, tapi orang tua Scott mendesak mereka untuk melanjutkan dan menyewa seorang vokalis baru.

Adalah Ex Geordie penyanyi Brian Johnson yang telah lolos setelah mengikuti audisi dan dipilih untuk menggantikan Scott. Dan pada akhir tahun band ini kemudian merilis album mereka yang paling laku, album Back In Black adalah album dengan penjualan tertinggi kedua didunia setelah Michael Jackson. Back in Black telah di perkirakan terjual 50 juta unit di seluruh dunia jumlah itu adalah kedua setelah  Michael Jackson.

Album berikutnya For Those about The Rock We Salute You adalah album pertama mereka untuk mencapai nomor satu di Amerika Serikat. AC / DC menurun dalam popularitas segera setelah drummer Phil Rudd dipecat pada tahun 1983 dan digantikan oleh masa depan Dio drummer Simon Wright . Band ini mengalami kebangkitan pada awal tahun 1990 dengan merilis The Razors Edge.

 

Pada musim panas 1994 lagi Phil Rudd kembali menjadi drummer setelah reuni dengan kelompok setelah konser. Malcolm memaafkannya dan memintanya untuk kembali. Pada musim gugur 1995 mereka meluncurkan album barunya yang berjudul Ballbreaker , diproduksi oleh Rick Rubin , yang masuk tangga lagu di nomor 4 dan terjual satu juta kopi dalam enam bulan pertama dengan single Hard like a rock . 

Pada 2010 AC/DC telah terjual lebih dari 200 juta album di seluruh dunia, termasuk 71 juta album di Amerika Serikat saja.
